Proper Brands: Brooks Brothers Takes Service To the Next Level

As technology increases, less people feel the need to shop at stores. With the economy on the rise, many people are spending more cash at stores (see data about Black Friday, the Christmas Holidays, etc.) while also continuing to spend online. But, with businesses like Zappos and Amazon, Mom and Pop stores are slowly declining in sales. People want fast and convenient and enjoy checking multiple sites online to find the best bargain. This is a shame in my opinion. There’s  nothing like going to a store to clothing shop. I refuse to buy most clothes without trying them on prior to buying them. Each brand, each type of clothing, fits different. If it does not fit me just right or I do not love it, I will not buy it.

Let’s get back to the point of this post. A couple weeks ago I found myself inside a Brooks Brothers store. I was courteously greeted by every employee and had a fantastic experience. One lady actually remembered my name and proceeded to greet me by it.  As I said above, I only buy items that I really enjoy and fit me well. So after an hour of trying on clothes and seeing everything they had, it was time to go to the register. The employee took time to gently wrap my over the top amount of merchandise, then walked around the counter to hand me my bags. She thanked me again by my name, and sent me on my way.

After my great experience, it only got better. Just the other day, I received a very nice thank you card from Brooks Brothers. It was addressed to me and said “I want to thank you for shopping with us at our location. We are very grateful for your business.” One thing that our generation does utilize is hand written or even typed postal mail. I recommend to you, the next time you stay with a friend, family friend, receive a gift, or experience anything “Thank You” worthy, to write that person a personalize thank you note. You will stand out and really make someones day.

Thank you, Brooks Brothers, for the great experience and reminder that customer service and thank you notes are classy and Proper.
